Stock locations and selling points

The PatronBase inventory module allows you to define multiple locations, and designate them selling locations or stock only locations.

Stock only locations may include your stock room; whilst your selling locations may include your merchandise kiosk, bar or cafe. Stock can be allocated either from the immediate selling location or from other locations in which stock can be found.

Stock ordering and supplier details

Your PatronBase Inventory module can be used to track your stock ordering and suppliers.

Products can be defined with one or more supplier, with pricing defined for each supplier. Purchase orders can then be generated for the chosen supplier, and stock receipted into a location of your choice.

Stock levels and order history

Stock levels can be viewed and reported on for all products for which inventory is enabled. A full range of stock operations allow stock to be ordered, receipted, adjusted, counted or moved.

Full history is available including orders, sales and stock operations, allowing full auditing of stock transactions.

Variants such as size and colour

Variants can be defined for products such as size and colour, allowing related products to be tracked, and reducing the time and effort against stocking and selling each combination of size and colour individually.

Prices can be defined either for the product and all variants as a whole, or each variant individually. Stock is tracked at the individual variant level, ensuring that you can track the stock of each variant.

Multiple levels of variant can be defined, to ensure that more complex products can be represented.

Quantities and Selling Measures

Products can be defined to sell in whole number (counted) quantities, such as 3 t-shirts, or fraction quantities, such as 1.5 rolls of tape.

In addition, stocking and selling measures can be defined separately. For example, you can order wine or spirits by the bottle and sell by the glass. The PatronBase Inventory module will manage the usage of bottles as each glass is sold, recording the bottles consumed. Some discrepancy will always arise - the spilled glass or dropped bottle - and this can be reconciled using stocktake functionality.

Variable prices by location or variant

Prices can be defined per product, or overridden by location or variant.

This gives the flexibility to price different sizes within the same product, such as large and small glasses of wine, or to adjust for locations which are more expensive to serve.

Safety stock and reorder points

Using the PatronBase Inventory module, you can define safety stock and reorder points.

This allows you to identify products which should be reordered before running out of stock, preventing stock-outs.
